Learners Excel in Positive Controlled Cooking Assessment

In a heartwarming display of creativity and culinary skill, students at Bryn y Deryn recently participated in a highly successful and positive Controlled Cooking Assessment showcasing their talents in the kitchen while embracing teamwork, responsibility, and sustainability.

The Controlled Cooking Assessment is designed to challenge learners to plan, prepare, and present a meal that meets specific guidelines, promoting both individual skill development and the importance of healthy, sustainable food choices.

The learners, many of whom had been practicing for weeks leading up to the event, were judged on a variety of factors, including food safety, time management, presentation, and of course, taste. 

As the assessment wrapped up, learners left the kitchen not only with full bellies but also with a sense of pride in their achievements and a renewed appreciation for the culinary arts. The event was a resounding success and a testament to the power of education in shaping well-rounded, capable, and confident young individuals.

The school plans to continue offering controlled cooking assessments in the future, with hopes of expanding the program to include more students and community involvement in the years ahead.
