This week, Nyth y Deryn was filled with excitement and Welsh pride as we celebrated our annual Eisteddfod, a tradition that brings our school community together to honor Welsh culture and creativity. From the rhythmic beats of the Welsh National Anthem to the colourful displays of student talent, it was a day to remember!
One of the highlights of the day was the Trampoline Competition, where learners from all year groups wowed the audience with their impressive flips and jumps!
Congratulations to all our athletes who took part and gave their best performances!
In addition to the trampoline competition, we also had stunning displays of Daffodil Art created by learners across the school, each one beautifully capturing the spirit of spring and Wales’ national symbol. The Colouring in the Welsh Flag competition was also a hit, with our young artists showcasing their creativity and attention to detail.
We also ran a handwriting competition, highlighting learners precision when it comes to both writing and the Welsh language.
Also included was our Welsh Cake competition, where learners got to show off their impressive culinary skills, with this traditional welsh treat. As you can imagine staff were thrilled to be the judges of that one!
Students were rewarded for their hard work and talent throughout the day with well-deserved certificates and prizes. The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by every learner was truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts!
A big thank you to all the teachers and support staff who helped make this event such a success.
This event was not only a celebration of Welsh culture but also a wonderful reminder of the creativity, hard work, and school spirit that defines Nyth y Deryn.
Congratulations to all our learners for their fantastic achievements, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this celebration possible!
