Bubble Painting: The Importance of Play Activities in a Trauma-Informed Environment
At Nyth y Deryn we believe in the power of creativity and play to support our learners emotional and mental well-being. One of our acitivies during pastoral time has been bubble painting. This fun and engaging art project allows learners to create beautiful, colorful patterns by blowing bubbles into paint and transferring the bubbly designs onto paper. The process is not only enjoyable but also therapeutic, helping learners express their emotions and relieve stress.
The Role of Play in Trauma-Informed Practice
Play is a crucial element in a trauma-informed environment. For children who have experienced trauma, play activities can be a powerful tool for healing and recovery. Trauma-informed play, such as bubble painting, provides a safe space for children to process their emotions, regain a sense of control, and rebuild positive connections with their environment and pastoral team.
